To Request IGETC Certification:

1. Log into your OneLogin Student Portal

2. Click Student Services

3. Under Student Records, Click: Request Official Transcript

4. Follow Prompts via Parchment to Place Order (Click on Cañada College. Click "Order" Button. Type in the name of the University you will be sending Transcripts to."

5. IMPORTANT: Before submitting the order, look for these Three Buttons: 1) "When do you want this sent? 2) Purpose. 3) Please include the following:

6. IMPORTANT: Click "Please Include the Following". This will bring up a list of options for your to select from that will include IGETC CSU and IGETC UC.

7. IMPORTANT: Click the IGETC option for which school you are sending transcripts to (CSU IGETC if you are applying to a CSU- example: San Jose State University. OR select UC IGETC if you are applying to a UC- example: UC Berkeley).

8. Make sure to follow the prompts to complete the rest of your order, then submit the order.

  • Select a major (consider personal interest, your personal values, and potential career opportunities). 
  • Meet regularly with an academic counselor to make sure you are staying on track, and have updated educational plans. 
  • Explore universities! Attend workshops, fairs, university tours, and meet with university representatives. Consider the location of the university, the size of the university, the programs offered, the support services available, and your financial means. 
  • Make sure to check in with a transfer counselor to make sure you are taking the correct courses and meeting the university's requirements. Discuss opportunities such as UC TAG, Associate's Degree for Transfer, and Transfer Honors Programs. 
  • Get started with the application early! Make sure you have all of your required documents (such as transcripts and letters of recommendation), and begin working on your personal statement, personal interest questions, and supplemental application (if applicable to the school you are applying to).
  • Meet with a counselor to petition for your degree from Cañada and RSVP for commencement if you would like to attend.
  • Pay attention to deadlines!
  • Apply for FAFSA.
  • After you submit your application, make sure to regularly check your email for updates, and log into your new student portal once you receive further instructions. Make sure to check if further follow up information is needed, such as Official Transcripts with Final Grades. 
  • Once accepted, check your new student portal for your university regularly to complete required steps, such as new student orientation and meeting with a counselor.

    • Visit the Admission website at the out-of-state colleges or universities that you are considering. Work with a College Counselor and/or the Transfer program Supervisor/Counselor to explore the admission and requirements listed in the university catalog that include general education and lower division major coursework.
