General Questions

Upon registering for your classes, your semester tuition bill will be created in your student account. You will also see the Student Activity Fee and the International Student Health Insurance Fee applied.

You may pay your student account through Websmart or visit the Cashier’s Office in Building 9, Welcome Center during business hours. Contact us for wire transfer information and other options if not able to use your credit or debit card, or obtain cash.

Tuition is due upon class registration, otherwise you may be dropped from your classes. There is also the option of setting up a payment plan through Nelnet. This can be completed in Websmart, in the Student Account section. There is a $30 fee to set up the payment plan, and the tuition payments are applied over 2-4 months.

We have an annual scholarship application that is open to all students enrolled at Cañada College. The scholarship application is open beginning in November and is usually due around March 1st. Scholarships are awarded in May and are based on:

  1. Academic merit and motivation
  2. Campus and community involvement
  3. Financial need.

Prospective Students

Once you have uploaded all of the required documents and paid the Application Fee, please submit your application. Our International Team will review your application within 1 business day and send you an email if any documents are missing or need to be resubmitted. For complete applications, the I-20 and acceptance letter will be emailed to the applicant within 2 business days.

Prospective students under most nonimmigrant and immigrant visa statuses may enroll in the college, with a few exceptions. However, the application process may be different depending on your current visa status.

Please contact us with questions, indicating your current visa status and the class(es) you wish to enroll in.

Yes! This is considered “F-1 Concurrent Enrollment” and requires permission from your current school’s Designated School Official (DSO). Please complete the General college application (NOT International application) here. 

After that, please email these documents to the Cañada College International Center (caninternational@smccd.edu):

  • Copy of Passport, Copy of F-1 Visa
  • Copy of Current I-20
  • Copy of I-94 and a letter from your current school DSO granting permission to enroll as a concurrent student and in which class(es).
