Cañada College and San Mateo County RFA Resource Family Approval Collaboration: Foster Care and Kinship Education

Welcome. At times, the responsibility for raising a child becomes too much for a family. During these times of need, the County may decide that for the well-being of the child they must be removed from their home ... at these times, we need skilled and dedicated families like yours.

If you are new to the idea of fostering or adopting, or you know a family in need, you may want to check out San Mateo County's RFA page: http://hsa.smcgov.org/foster-care-program

Once you decide to take your interest further, Cañada College offers Pre-Approval and Post-Approval classes and workshops that help Resource Families prepare to care for children in need. We work in collaboration with the San Mateo County Office of Foster and Kinship Care, and are funded by the State Chancellor's Office for CA Community Colleges. These FREE orientations, classes and workshops are held regularly and we would be happy to connect you with the resources that you need.

Thanks in advance for your support.
