Al-Anon and Alateen:

  • AI-Anon: A mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, whether or not the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help.
  • Alateen: A part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, is a fellowship of young people (mostly teenagers) whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking whether they are in your life drinking or not. By attending Alateen, teenagers meet other teenagers with similar situations. Alateen is not a religious program and there are no fees or dues to belong to it.

General Resources Domestic Violence

  • CORA: is the only agency in San Mateo County solely dedicated to helping those affected by intimate partner abuse. From counseling, to emergency housing, to legal assistance, our services are designed to provide safety, support, and healing.
  • La Casa de Las Madres: La Casa de Las Madres acts boldly to create a community where violence against women and children is not tolerated. We envision a society in which all individuals and families have equal access to basic resources and asset-building opportunities.  We envision a future where safety and respect in intimate relationships are the norm.

RAPE / Trauma

  • Rape Trauma Services: Rape Trauma Services (RTS) works to prevent sexual assault, end cycles of violence, and support trauma survivors.
  • Rape Trauma Recovery Center: Serving adult survivors of interpersonal violence and traumatic loss, we provide respectful, compassionate, and effective mental health and support services.
