Project Change is the first program in Redwood City at Cañada College that is focused on serving students transitioning from the justice system. Cañada College provides a learning-centered environment, ensuring that all students have equitable opportunities to achieve their degree, career education, and lifelong learning educational goals.

The Cañada College cultivates in its students the ability to think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, reason quantitatively, and understand and appreciate different points of view within a diverse community. These services are dedicated to our formerly incarcerated students, to build the foundation for offering classes designed for incarcerated students with direct access to postsecondary education and community resources for formally incarcerated adults, and in-person college instruction inside adult facilities.

The project connects students to resources and programs at Cañada College, such as
a college readiness summer bridge program, social and academic support services, nationally
recognized cohort learning communities, and career and technical education programs.
Students are provided a clear pathway to resources on campus to enhance success.
Classes are offered during the day, evening and on weekends.
Classes are predetermined and registration in Project Change courses are guaranteed.
Take as few as one class or as many as four classes per semester.

All 60 units are fully transferable, complete your first 2 years and transfer to a 4-year insitution.
Become a part of a learning community, start and complete your goals with the same cohort of students.
As part of the Project Change program, students can connect with fellow students through EdElevate, an app dedicated to creating community. This app adds an equitable lens to Project Change Program and provides access to information and community resources. Sign up to grow a network of fellow students, post to receive real time assistance on message boards or search for resources. Students can also connect with other students through chat to gather important information so they can succeed together.
