Medical Services

Student Health Services are available to all enrolled Cañada College students and provides health care services, referral services and educational information related to health issues. Symptoms are evaluated and treated and referred to local community health clinics if necessary. Students under age 18 must complete the Minor Treatment Consent Form. The Health Center is staffed by a nurse, nurse practitioners and a part-time physician.

Student Health Services provides appointments for routine gynecological health care and educational information regarding sexual health concerns.

We recommend that you get tested for STIs if any of these risk factors apply to you:

  • You have unprotected vaginal, anal or oral sex
  • A condom breaks
  • Your partner has or has had an STI
  • You or your partner inject street drugs
  • You have a new sex partner
  • You have had more than one partner in the past six months
  • Your partner has or had sex with another person
  • You have sex under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol

  • Over-the-counter medications (Advil, Tylenol, Anti- acids, Cough drops)

  • Screenings ( blood pressure and blood sugar)
  • Off-Campus referrals as needed
  • TB Assessments only  (no TB skin test available ) 
  • Referrals for Chest X-rays (to rule out active tuberculosis) for employment
