Cañada College at Menlo Park Program Policies

 

Cancel/Refund Policy 

Students may drop a course any time before the start of a class up to one week past the start date for a full refund. For more information please email Mercedes at whitem@smccd.edu 

  • In your email, please include your name, the name of the course, your phone number, your email address, and the reason for your drop to help us evaluate the quality of our courses and programs. 
  • If books and kits were sent to you, they must be sent back for the refund to be issued
  • Funds may take up to a week for you to see the refund on your bank statement.

Extenuating Circumstances

If you are currently enrolled in one of our programs and need to drop a class due to extenuating circumstances, please contact Mercedes at whitem@smccd.edu for assistance. Examples of extenuating circumstances are as follows: 

  • Job transfer outside the geographical region
  • Illness in the family where the student is the primary caregiver
  • An incarcerated student in a California State Prison or County Jail is released from custody or involuntarily transferred before the end of the term (In the case of an incarcerated student, an excused withdrawal cannot be applied if the failure to complete the course(s) was the result of a student’s behavioral violation or if the student requested and was granted a mid-semester transfer)
  • The student is the subject of an immigration action
  • Death of an immediate family member
  • Chronic or acute illness
  • Accidents
  • Natural disaster directly affecting the student

Service Area

Students who live in San Mateo County will be prioritized for all programs. Students living in the Bay Area will also be given high priority to enroll in the not-for-credit programs.  Any students living outside of the state are not eligible for programs at Cañada College at Menlo Park.
