S.T.A.R. Timeline

AANAPISI S.T.A.R. Initiative Timeline:

  • Summer 2022: San Francisco State University applied for Title 3, AANAPISI cooperative grant with Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College. 
  • Fall 2022: The proposal entitled ARC (Access, Relevance, and Community) was awarded a 5-year Federally-funded Title 3, Part A grant. The ARC partners began program planning. 
  • February 2023: Director of Postsecondary Success secured a Program Services Coordinator position for AANAPISI & Colts-U Transfer Center. 
  • March 2023: AANAPISI ARC partners host AANAPISI Day at San Francisco State University. 
  • April 2023: AANAPISI ARC partners attended and presented the grant at the Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education Conference in Oakland, CA. 
  • May 2023: Cañada College AANAPISI working group formed. 
  • June 2023: Cañada College receives Foundations for California Community College's Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program funds & hired a Program Services Coordinator. 
  • September 2023: launched S.T.A.R. (Success, Transfer, Access, Relevance) initiatives with the additional funds from AANHPI SAP and situated ARC as a culturally responsive transfer pathway pillar of STAR.
