Edit the navigation menu bar with Omni Update

Remember to add content to a new page BEFORE you link to it.

Click on the navbar.php file to open it:

This is the navbar page. Click ‘edit’ to edit:

Choose either the main navigation menu or the box below it, entitled 'Related Links' to edit, by clicking on the appropriate yellow ‘edit’ button:

Place your cursor right at the end of the item in the list above where you want your new navigation link, hit 'return' on your keyboard, and then type in the page title where it should be placed. (If you end up with uneven spacing in your navigation list, check to make sure that there aren't any extra spaces after the prior item.)

Highlight the new link text:

Click on the ‘link’ button on the upper right of the toolbar:

A window opens. Click on the button next to the Link URL text box to browse for the web page or document to link to:

A new window opens to locate the page:

Click on the page you want and click ‘select file’:

Once the page is in the Link URL text box, click ‘Insert’:
 

The new item in the navigation list is now hyperlinked.

Save file:

And publish:

Remember to click the second 'publish' button at the bottom of the page:

Then check if the link works by going to a new window of the browser and opening the website:
