Cañada College Celebrates Latinx Heritage Month (LHM)
Cañada College will be filled with music, food, stories and celebrations that honor the beauty and diversity of our Latinx community. Come connect, learn and celebrate together as we highlight cross-sectional culture, traditions and identities. Wednesday, October 7 is Flex Day
Next Wednesday, October 7, is Flex Day, a day dedicated to the professional development of Cañada College employees. There are no classes, and all Cañada College offices and student services are closed for the day.
Great California ShakeOut Drill – October 15
Cañada College will participate in the Great California ShakeOut earthquake and evacuation drill on Thursday, October 15, from 10:45 to approximately 10:55 a.m. At 10:45 a.m., everyone on campus should Drop, Cover and Hold On for 60 seconds, then evacuate calmly along posted routes to their designated assembly area and remain there until the ALL CLEAR is issued through RAVE and the campus public announcement system.
Red Cards & Undocumented Community Resources
Wallet-sized “Red Cards” that explain how to safely assert your rights during interactions with immigration enforcement are available for pickup at the Undocumented Community Center. These cards are offered in multiple languages, including Spanish, English, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian and Portuguese. These can also be printed. Visit the District’s Undocumented Community Resources or stop by the Undocumented Community Center (Building 9, Room 118), open Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
