Great California Shakedown Drill, October 17
The Great California Shakeout is an annual opportunity to practice being safer during big earthquakes. This year’s drill occurs on Thursday, October 17, at 10:17 a.m. Drop, Cover, and Hold On is the immediate action taken during an earthquake to protect students and staff from flying and falling debris. It is an appropriate action for earthquakes and explosions. SMCCCD combines Drop, Cover, and Hold On with a secondary Evacuation drill.
Halloween Book Drive
Join Cañada’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Program Beta Zeta Nu as we celebrate National Book Month this October! PTK will be collecting and donating "spooky" stories for children ages infant to 8-years-old in collaboration with Cañada’s Educators Now Club. Drop boxes are located across Campus: Student Life & Leadership Center, Library, The Grove, Learning Center, Building 23, and Building 13. Donations will be gratefully accepted through October 31.
SMCCCD Athletic Center's Fall Showcase
You're invited to a series of special Athletic Center Fall Showcase events on Saturday, November 16, at College of San Mateo's Athletic Center and Sunday, November 17, at Cañada College's Athletic Center . The two-day event highlights the top offerings of our Athletic Centers. All SMCCCD students, faculty, or staff who aren't members can participate in our special programs or explore at their own leisure. Enjoy light snacks and refreshments!
