The Cañada College Tennis Program possesses a long history of success in the ITA Coast Conference. In its early days, the Tennis Program was comprised of a Men's Program that hosted the likes of Cal and Stanford. following the 2006/07 season, the program took a hiatus of inactivity. In the 2015/16 year, Head Coach Rick Velazquez introduced the inaugural Cañada College Women's Tennis Team and made it to Coast Conference Dual Team Playoffs for two consecutive years. Following his retirement, Coach Bryan Jeong continued this trend. The following year, the Colts had showings at the California Community College State Championships to the Semifinals in Singles and the Quarterfinals in Doubles.
The coaches and staff of Cañada College's Women's Tennis team have started actively seeking recruits to be a part of the team. Once a dominant program from the 1990s to the early 2000s, Coach Jeong has committed himself to bringing back and maintaining the longstanding tradition of success with the team's return. Any players interested in trying out should contact Coach Jeong.
There is no age limit and any playing level will be considered. We invite you to try out for the new Women’s Tennis program and join the ranks of our other Varsity Athletes representing Cañada College in a, “first class manner.” Through our program, you can also be groomed to receive scholarships to pay for the next two years of your education following requirement completion at Cañada College.
For all inquiries on how to join the Cañada College Women's Tennis Team, please contact Head Coach Bryan Jeong at jeongb@smccd.edu or (650) 245-1571.
