How Do I Apply?
Our application is closed for the 2019/2020 academic year. The application will reopen
for the 2020/2021 school year in the spring.
You’ll begin the online application process by creating an OpenCCC account.
During this process you'll be asked for your intended major and an educational goal, along with some basic personal, educational and residency information.
After applying, you’ll receive your Student ID Number (G-Number) via email.
When you have your student ID (G number), you will use it to login to Cañada College WebSMART
Once logged in, you will see “Student Services” in large grey writing on your account home page. Click on this text, and near the top of the list of items you see on this page, you should find “District Promise Applications.” Click on this link, and proceed to the application itself.
Once you submit your completed application, you will need to keep an eye on your SMCCD email for further communications and information about your status
Students need to apply for Federal Student Aid (18/19 FAFSA) OR the 18/19 California DREAM Act in order to be eligible for the Cañada College Promise Scholars Program.
Students are admitted to the Promise Scholars Program on a rolling basis. You will receive an email within a month of submitting your application regarding your application status. If you are conditionally accepted into the program, you will need to complete an assessment, meet with a Promise Scholars Program Counselor, and attend an orientation in order to finalize your spot in the program. Please be sure to regularly check your SMCCD email for important communications and information regarding your application status and next steps.
