100 Effective Tutoring (0.5 unit, CSU) Theory and practice of effective Peer
tutoring, including work on interpersonal skills, effective
study skills and course specific tutoring techniques.
This course is required for peer tutors.

110 Teaching/Tutoring Practicum (1-3 units, CSU) Intended for students who wish to improve
their skills in tutoring. Includes a combination of
instructional and practical experience.
LCTR 139 Fundamentals of the Research Paper from
A to Z (2 units, CSU) Guides students through the
process of writing a research paper, from initial research
to final proofreading. Students in this course will
also write a research paper.

140 Professional Writing (2 units, CSU) Gives instruction
for writing in the business world and includes practice
in letters, memos, proposals, resumes, etc.

on the mastery of more than one hundred Latin and Greek

identify and correct the most common errors of punctuation,
sentence structure, and grammar.
