Embedded Peer Instruction Cohort (EPIC)
Embedded Peer Instruction Cohort (EPIC) is a program that was developed to modify the traditional Supplemental Instruction (SI) program, tailoring it to Math and Science classes. The EPIC program is NOT tutoring! Students who have previously been successful in a course are recommended to be EPIC leaders for that course in the current semester. EPIC leaders run three hours of study sessions outside of class each week to go over class strategies and example problems.
Current Courses targeted to have EPIC Leaders are:
- MATH 251 – Calculus I
- MATH 222 – Pre-Calculus
- MATH 130 – Trigonometry
- MATH 225 – Fast Track to Calculus
- PHYSICS 250 – Physics with Calculus I
- PHYSICS 260 – Physics with Calculus II
- COMP SCI 118 - Introduction to Computer Science
- BIOL 130 - Human Biology
STEM courses associated with EPIC will have a student EPIC leader who will attend your class and host 2-3 hours of EPIC sessions weekly as well as pre-exam review sessions.
