Chuck Carlson 
History
Chuck Carlson attended Cal State University from1971-72, droppingout to become and electroless copper plater and then carpenter from 1973-1999. He re-registeredincollege in 1987, attending Cabrillo Community College in Aptos, CA and the University of California, Santa Cruz, obtaining a B.A. in Japanese History in 1993. He wasaccepted into the Stanford GraduateProgram in U.S. History in 1995 and awarded an M.A. in U.S. History in 1997 with a dual focus in 20th Century U.S. History and U.S. Labor History. He has completed all but hisdissertation in the doctoral program and is currentlyfinishing his PhD at Stanford.
Professor Carlson taught two semesters at Stanford for the Symbolic Systems Program in 2003 and has taught numerous courses at Cañada College, including: Race Ethnicity and Immigration in US History (Hist 245), African American History (Hist 242), US History (Hist 201&Hist 202) and the History Western Civilization I (Hist 100) as well as guest lecturing for Far Eastern Civilization Culture andHeritage (Hist 451&452) and American Politics (PLSC 210). He has also given talks on Immigration Issues, Black Women Activists and the Death Penalty at college wide events. He is co-sponsor of the United Nations Association of Cañada College and an adjunct representative on College Council 2006-07.
