1. Can I get on the waitlist for your class?
I do not have a waitlist for my courses. Instead, I recommend that all interested students who have not been able to enroll, show up to the first class meeting. Usually, there are students who have previously enrolled in the section but no longer intend on taking the course. Any student who does not show up on the first day of the semester, may be dropped from the course and the spot given to someone else. I use a simply lottery system for selecting students.
2. How can I improve my chances of getting into A&P?
Our district bases registration dates on the cummulative number of units you have earned in any of our three colleges. Those students closest to graduation are given an earlier registration date. Current students are also given an earlier registration date over people that have never taken a course in the district. So sign up for a class -- for example: a fitness class that'll improve your health while you wait for an opening in A&P.
3. Which text will you be using for Biology 260?
I will be using Silverthorn's Human Physiology 4th edition. Additional information can be found at this link.
4. Do I have to take anatomy before physiology?
There is no requirement to take anatomy before physiology. However, most students find it helpful to have already learned the structure of the organs before taking on their function in physiology.
