You Could be Eligible for $5,550 to Help You go to School
Federal financial aid not only pays for your fees and books but can also help you pay your living expenses.

How would you like to receive $5,550 per year to go to school? It sounds like an Internet advertisement but it's true, the federal government is offering eligible community college students Pell Grants up to $5,550 per year to pay their fees, books, and living expenses.
To find out if you are eligible you need to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We can help you do that. Every Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. the Cañada College Financial Aid Office is sponsoring FAFSA Tuesdays. Come to Building 9, Room 106 at any time during this open workshop and we'll help you fill out the paperwork. It's free and it could help you pay your way through college. To better assist you, click here to see what documents you should bring.
For more information, contact the Cañada College Financial Aid Office at (650) 306-3307 or canadafinancialaid@smccd.edu. You can also drop by their office in Building 9, Room 109 and talk to them in person. Students with prior bachelor degrees or higher are not eligible for Pell Grants but other resources may be available.
