Teaching is the top priority at Cañada College

As a student, when you pay for college you would like to know that the top priority for your professor is educating you. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.

At large universities, published research is the top priority. General education classes for freshmen and sophomores are often taught in large lecture halls with hundreds of students by a graduate student teaching assistant. Of course, that's assuming you are able to register for the class section before it fills up. Is that the quality learning experience you paid for?

Luckily, you have a better option. When you step into a class at Cañada College your professor has one goal – educating you. Because Cañada College is one of the smallest community colleges in the Bay Area students aren't herded into large lecture halls. You won't be taught by a graduate student, you'll be taught by a professor, many who have earned Ph.D.'s in their respective fields. It's no wonder community college students have a higher graduation rate from university than students who entered the universities as freshmen.

We invite you to take a look at our roster of professors. It's one of the strongest groups of academics at any community college in the Bay Area. The choice is yours, follow the crowd into the large lecture halls or break away to a better option at Cañada College.
